There once was a little girl who loved Barbie dolls, dress up, and
the color pink. She was frequently found in poufy dresses and sparkly
little heels, pirouetting away with a Barbie or two over her shoulder
and scattered clothing in her wake. She dressed her Barbies in crazy
creations, she dressed herself in over-the-top wear; heck, she even put
her grandpa in some pretty outlandish get-ups!
Old habits die hard, they say. Well, so it was for the little girl.
Dress-up became more than just play time. It became a hobby, a passion, a
pure enjoyment in seeing that perfect dress at the mall that looked
exactly as she’d dreamed. And although most other little girls let their
dreams of becoming princesses go-- she simply modernized hers. She's
not fully grown up, though. She’s halfway there: awkwardly 5’9” and
still trying to totter around in a pair of real heels (turns out those
dress-up heels are nothing like the ones in the REAL world). She’s
learning to embrace that awkwardness and express herself through fashion
like that little girl of long ago. Rory’s 17 short years have been
sweet, and she hopes to someday grow up to become a variation of the
girl she’s been through every phase, dress-up or dressed up, of her
life. Welcome to WearAbouts.
