Her new collection is totally awesome...she makes t-shirts, now too and they are so on trend! You know the galaxy print trend that's stormed the web? Well, Lauren has a supernova shirt that's a cropped, handpainted galaxy print gem... and SPOT ON TREND! :D I'll be modeling again this summer in a few weeks. It's a Summertime Thing

Every summer is practically the same for me. Throughout my childhood, summer was defined by swim team and the pool. Now, my summers are defined by lifeguarding. But always, always my summers have boiled down to "the pool". Regardless of which pool it may be, I seem to spend most of my time there. Another aspect that is always the same is what my brother and I do to pass the 90+ degree days. Games. Board games, card games, even Wii games for a while...yep, we were those kids :). Last year, I remember it was a board game. Parcheesi. Another year it was the card game Rummy 500. Now, it's Spit. Have any of you played Spit? It's so addicting :) Regardless of what the game is, it's always certain that we play EVERYDAY and multiple times.

Do you have a summer routine?

I'll be on the DL for the next few days. I'm working every day this week except Friday!

I've been wearing lots of blue lately. I haven't had much blue before this summer, really, but now I suddenly have dresses, shoes, jewelry. And it goes so well with my neon green accessories, right??

You'd be surprised how tiring lifeguarding can be. Even though you literally sit in one spot all day, moving nothing but your neck as you swivel it around, the sun seems to drain all of your energy. I just got back from a long day at the pool...and I am TIRED.

I'm also playing in a summer soccer league with my school team, which started up yesterday. It felt so good to get back out on the field after a few month hiatus from playing in games (I've still been training). It's weird--I was thinking about it, and I don't know that much about the bloggers behind the blogs I read (other than where they shop :P ). To me, and to readers in general, all they are is someone who posts an outfit every so often. You don't always realize that they are actually doing stuff, too. I mean, I obviously didn't go and play soccer in this outfit...but when I think about it, I haven't really talked to you that much about soccer!

With the true soccer season fast approaching, I figure now's a good time as any.

I'm the starting varsity goalkeeper for my school's team which means I stand in the big rectangular box and prevent the ball from going in. Or try to, anyways. It's harder than it sounds! And when I play goalie, I'm very unstylish. I wear men's pants with big padding on the sides that makes my hips look huge. I wear a long-sleeved, baggy shirt that is also meant for a man. Also, I wear a mouthguard and headgear (safety FIRST) as required of me by my dad ("just protecting your BRAIN, Rory") and smelly gloves to catch the ball with. It makes for a good look, right?

This picture is about a year old, before the addition of my beloved headgear to my game attire. But I assure you, it only adds to my already stylish look.
