I've been out of power (and also internet) since Monday night now. I've also been out of school since Wednesday the 24th. By the time I go back to school, I'll have had 11 days off, counting weekends!!! It's been so nice to have a break...but looking on the dark side, it also means we've used up all of our snow days and our other breaks might be shortened now. How has everyone else fared from Hurricane Sandy? We really didn't get hit that bad where I am--just lots of power outages and fallen trees. New York City got hit really bad...as did a lot of the beaches in NJ. Not sure how the other states are faring, but in my state it was so bad in some areas that our governor officially postponed Halloween to November 5th! Things like that have NEVER happened here before! I'm at a local Kohl's right now for the Wifi (who knew Kohl's had wifi, right??) and I'm scheduling posts for the rest of the week since I'm not supposed to get my power back for a whole nother week. As much as being without power is awful, I'm grateful our house isn't damaged or anything worse. Plus, we have a generator, which gives us the essentials (water, lights in the bathroom, the fridge, and the TV). It doesn't give us heat, nor does it give us lights anywhere else. Needless to say it's pretty cold and dark at night. And you can probably tell that these pictures were taken in the happy, warm, sunny, electricity-possessing days BEFORE the storm. Storms like these sure do show us how lucky we really are! Hope everyone who was hit by Sandy is safe and okay!

  2. Sooo glad you're OK. I didn't have power for 3 days and literally wanted to kill myself, but that's nothing compared to the NJ and NY damage. The Jersey Shore is just terrible, makes me want to cry.

  3. So relieved to hear you're okay! Thank goodness for Kohl's wifi (wow, who knew?) Aha, at least you weren't hit too bad then.

  5. Awe my Rory dearest, I'm just glad you're okay! 11 days out of school... hot damn, that's like Christmas break, lol! But yes, you really are lucky, and I suppose things could have been a lot worse. I'm sure you'll have wifi soon enough again--I srsly wouldn't have guessed that Kohl's of all the places had wifi, hahaha! I thought Starbucks and Panera bread were the obvious choices, but Kohl's... iiiinteresting. ;0

Anyway, I'm loving the leopard skirt with socks and booties combo. SOCKS!! <3

  6. I'm sorry about the whole Hurricane Sandy thing. I live in upstate NY and we were hit pretty damn badly by the storm, too. Most of my town still doesn't have power, and both towns next to us are even worse than we are. I've had 9 consecutive days off of school, and my family only just got power and cable back Thursday. Though I've seen horrible reports of the NJ shore and NYC subways and shores, so I can't complain. It's really been rough on everyone.

    On a lighter note...lovely outfit!
