#Detox

All around the world, the biggest fashion merchandisers are contributing significantly to water pollution. People in poor countries are dying drinking the toxic water, or from not drinking it--therefore dying of thirst. The Detox Campaign was launched by Greenpeace to make a toxic-free future. Bloggers, fashion designers, writers, and the brands themselves have united to make fashion without pollution. BUT there is still such a long way to go. I found the campaign website last week while browsing the internet and was touched by the video. I inked the campaign logo on my hand and snapped some pictures to show my support. You can too--sign the Detox Fashion Manifesto, tweet with the hashtag #DETOX, and find out more on their website here.
Unite with other members of the fashion scene and bloggers like me to put an end to water pollution! We don't know how good we've got it. Hopefully this video puts things into perspective, and makes you aware of what's really going on with your favorite clothing manufacturers.

A Winning Watch

Just wanted to make a quick post since my favorite brand EVER emailed me to give me a discount code for you wonderful readers...

So I think I talk about my Daniel Wellington watch plenty, and deservingly so as I wear it literally every single day. It was probably the best thing I've ever been gifted during my time as a blogger and so that's why I'm making this post--to let you all know, and to thank the wonderful people at Daniel Wellington! This post is in no way sponsored, I just hope you'll take my word for it and give your loved ones some AWESOME watches for Christmas this year

Use the code "XMAS-wearabouts" for 15% off at Daniel Wellington, plus free shipping worldwide, until December 24th! Merry early Christmas! Check out the ways I've styled my DW watch below...

That Poetry Girl

Dress- Forever 21 | Boots- Lucky Brand @ Macy's | Jean Jacket- J. Crew Factory | Necklace- c/o ONecklace | Watch- c/o Daniel Wellington

Whenever I find writing related clothes I almost always buy them. This dress from Forever 21 has lots of random words (numbers too!) written on it, and as a writer, I just feel like it's the perfect addition to my wardrobe. I've also got tights with letters on them, which I actually considered wearing with this dress, but then thought that would be overkill....

Fancy Shmancy

Outfit 1: Fancy
Details:
Polka dot flats from Everbuying

Outfit 2: Fancier
Details:
Scoopneck Red Maxi
Stilettos from Everbuying
Philip Stein Fruitz Watch from JR Dunn
~~~~~~~~~
The holiday season is upon us! What are you doing to gear up? Here's what you should be doing: buying party dresses! A staple in my wardrobe is dresses fancy enough for parties but cute enough to wear to do other things. And about 50% of the dresses I own are LBDs. It took lots of self-restraint to put NO black dresses, and instead, two season-appropriate red dresses on this! Did I pick well? I personally like the maxi--only because I've never had a dress like that before and would love to try and rock it this way!
Both of the dresses are from Everbuying, a site I recently discovered. It's one of those awesome wholesale-type places where you can get great bargains and free shipping worldwide! Gotta love deals like that. I think of it as thrift shopping, but online, and with new clothes. There's literally thousands of choices, PLUS it's all cheap!
Also, this is the first time I've made an "outfit collage" sort of deal. It was actually really fun to make, and not hard at all with my Photoshop knowledge from photo class and designing this blog!
Finally-- you know how obsessed I was with that preppy Daniel Wellington watch I got a few months back? The one I've been wearing every day? Well, I've found some new watches to lust after...they're from JR Dunn called "Fruitz Watches by Philip Stein". The two I picked out above are my personal favorites. They're so classy and modern at the same time! I've never seen anything like them!
Hopefully this inspired you to buy some red (NOT BLACK) dresses for the holiday! It's my goal to not buy any more black ones for a while and maybe I'll even pick up a pretty red Christmas dress, who knows :)
XOXO
Spiderman
Dress- c/o eShakti.com | Jacket- Wilson's Leather Outlet | Earrings- Anthro | Boots- Lucky Brand @ Macy's | Watch- c/o Daniel Wellington
On the night before Thanksgiving, my family saw "Spiderman" on Broadway. It was freezing cold and super windy, but the show was very cool! I wore this dress and jacket to keep me warm. Not much is new with me--I've been working hard of course, and haven't had much time for the blog. Wear Abouts isn't work for me--it's one of my greatest passions. Sometimes though, when I have so much other work that needs to get done, this gets neglected. Maybe because I haven't changed things up very much since my blogs very first days.
I can't wait for when I go to college--to show you whatever beautiful campus I am living on, to have my roommate help me with outfit pictures. My blog will head in a new direction once I'm off to college, for sure!
