Happy Cinco de Mayo! I don't know about you guys but it's certainly starting to feel like summer where I am. I basically have like 4 weeks of school left and I'm done!!! I can't wait!! :) Tweet

I've been out of power (and also internet) since Monday night now. I've also been out of school since Wednesday the 24th. By the time I go back to school, I'll have had 11 days off, counting weekends!!! It's been so nice to have a break...but looking on the dark side, it also means we've used up all of our snow days and our other breaks might be shortened now. How has everyone else fared from Hurricane Sandy? We really didn't get hit that bad where I am--just lots of power outages and fallen trees. New York City got hit really bad...as did a lot of the beaches in NJ. Not sure how the other states are faring, but in my state it was so bad in some areas that our governor officially postponed Halloween to November 5th! Things like that have NEVER happened here before! I'm at a local Kohl's right now for the Wifi (who knew Kohl's had wifi, right??) and I'm scheduling posts for the rest of the week since I'm not supposed to get my power back for a whole nother week. As much as being without power is awful, I'm grateful our house isn't damaged or anything worse. Plus, we have a generator, which gives us the essentials (water, lights in the bathroom, the fridge, and the TV). It doesn't give us heat, nor does it give us lights anywhere else. Needless to say it's pretty cold and dark at night. And you can probably tell that these pictures were taken in the happy, warm, sunny, electricity-possessing days BEFORE the storm. Storms like these sure do show us how lucky we really are! Hope everyone who was hit by Sandy is safe and okay!

Sorry I've been so out of touch this week--life is so hectic! But hey, what else is new? Here's a quick post with another dress I recieved from Crash and Burn Apparel. It reminds me of something a fairy princess would wear! :) Of course I edged it up with some black and some booties since it's getting cold. What do you think? On another note, thank you all so much for the birthday comments, tweets, and emails! I had a nice birthday on Thursday despite having to study all night long, and my family will be celebrating my birthday today by going out to dinner and opening presents! On my actual birthday, I got one of my presents and it was 4 pretty nail polishes for fall. I am kind of addicted to painting my nails so these will certainly come in handy :). One of my friends baked me cookies, another brought me a king-size hershey, and still another made me a big, colorful card. It was a good day! I'm off to my third soccer game in 4 days now...and then after that to celebrate my 17th! Have an awesome weekend, guys!

Anyways, I created this outfit around my new shoes from My Hot Shoes. I would have NEVER thought to pair this top and skirt together normally, but the colors matched those in the shoes and the top and skirt surprisingly matched together well too! And this jacket, which was one of my back to school purchases, goes with EVERYTHING. I'm not kidding. I want to put it on top of every dress, every skirt and shirt combo...heck, even with shorts. TJMaxx is so good to me :)
