Firefly Day 1 Outfit

Here's what I wore on Day 1 of the three days I spent at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware. My friend Katie and I (both rising First-Year Jeff Scholars at UVa) camped out and and enjoyed free drinks and extra perks because we had Press Passes. I also had a new experience...and that would be PUMPING MY OWN GAS! As a Jersey girl, I've never pumped gas before...so losing my gas-pumping virginity was a big big deal! Had to take a picture, obviously.

Wearing a short dress could be considered risky at a concert...especially because I was jumping up and down to the beat, sitting in the grass, and more. My secret? I ALWAYS wear spandex, a.k.a. athletic compression sports, underneath my dresses and skirts! It eliminates all my worry and let's me go about the day without having to check to make sure my butt isn't showing. Came in handy at Firefly, for sure!

Probably my favorite part of my outfit is the sunglasses. I've been wearing exclusively Giant Vintage sunglasses for about two years now, and just a day before Firefly got in a whole new shipment! This pair was my favorite--and they were glued to my face all weekend long! They are just SO festival-perfect. I love the flirty look of heart-shaped sunglasses and will definitely be breaking these out again this summer. Can't wait to show you the other pairs they sent me! HURRAY FOR GIANT VINTAGE!

Peekaboo

This is something a bit different from my usual style but I couldn't resist showing off this bralette. What's the point if you can't see it, right? So I made sure it sticks out of my shirt! I'm going to the Made in America Festival (a giant, awesome concert) and this is an outfit option. It kind of screams "concert attire" doesn't it? Also my back to school shopping trip was a SUCCESS! I always do well this time of year at Lord & Taylor...particularly in the Free People section. I scored 2 FP dresses for a shocking $25 each!

And I'm not the slightest bit ashamed to admit that one of them is THIS dress but in the white color. It's my favorite dress in black, so I figured why not get it in white too?

Here's the real dilemma: is it socially acceptable to wear the white version on the first day of school this year, when I wore the black version on the last day last year? PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE (because the white version is sooooo in the running for first day outfit!)!

P.S. Am I looking blonder? I've been using Sun-In everytime I lifeguard :)

Tie-Dead

...as opposed to tie-dyed. I thought it was clever, anyway, as it about sums up how I'm feeling right now. Took the SATs yesterday. And spent all of today studying for an AP Biology test. Memorization to the extreme, you guys. Only two words describe how I feel: DEAD TIRED.
Sadly, shorts season is coming to a close. While it's still warm enough where I am to wear outfits like this to school, I don't think it's going to last much longer...

Home Opener

Guys, I'm sorry. I unintentionally tricked you all. I didn't wind up wearing EITHER outfit that I posted about on my first day of school...instead, I wore the outfit seen in the p ost seen here with sandals instead of flats. I was so indecisive...and this was what I liked the night before the first day. On any other given day, I might have worn something completely different. Might have just been one of those moods. Nonetheless, I got lots of compliments...so I'm not complaining :). I'm onto my third day now, and hopefully I'll be able to take some new pictures soon! It's hard, with soccer, I don't get home until nearly 7 PM....and then I have to do my homework! Plus, it's starting to get dark by then anyways....oh how I miss summer already!
But, I do have some awesome classes---my favorite being Poetry and AP US Gov. My school has the best record of any school in the United States on the AP US Government and Politics exam...the last year it was taught at my school, 43 students took the exam and 37 of them got a 5 (the highest possible score!). The remaining six got a 4, which is very good as well! So I have high hopes for that class and the results I'll get! Plus, I love the teacher--not only does he deliver results (37 out of 43, guys...THAT is impressive), he's a funny guy.
Anyways, my team has our first game of the season tomorrow night! It's one of the toughest teams we face, and yours truly will be starting as goalkeeper! Wish me luck!!!!!

I mean...how cool are these shorts. I'm in love :) If you wanna pick up your own pair, I fit a size M perfectly and I'm usually a size 4/5 in jeans/pants.

Bohemian Rhapsody

On Wednesday, my friends and I had a photoshoot! Hannah's a photographer (and a really good one at that) so it's really fun to get some awesome pictures out of these shoots. Because rain was forecast, the photos have a gloomy sort of vibe. Sorry about the photo overload again...it's so hard for me to narrow down! :D Our theme was boho...ish? Anyways, I'm on my back to school shopping excursion today so in lieu of an outfit post enjoy these awesome pictures!
