Hippie Summer

My schedule for senior year comes out tomorrow! And so does the common app...all you rising seniors out there, are you gonna be working on apps this August? I am...

Today I'm off photoshoot-ing in some field or another with my friend Margaux. A good photoshoot makes any day better :)

This top and bottom are two of my newest purchases, for "back to school". I've already worn the shorts twice though so I guess my mom was right when she argued that I wasn't buying this stuff for back to school.

Still, super cute for summer right? I'm a sucker for "different" shorts and these definitely fit that profile (right up there with my crochet jean shorts--another favorite!). Happy almost August!

See how I've worn some of my favorite creative shorts before:

Pink Mirror

Happy Monday! I got some awesome sunglasses in the mail a few weeks ago from Giant Vintage and I'm having a tough time picking which ones are my favorites! These are definitely up there though--they're so different from everything else I own! Plus, pink mirrors? Totally the way to a girl's heart.

Summer's pretty much over for me--only a little over 3 weeks until soccer preseason starts and then after that school will be starting before I know it. Honestly, I'm ready. I'm ready to get back and see all my friends and even start having homework again!

Okay, maybe not the homework part. But definitely the friend part! The main thing that I'll miss about this summer is the great relationship I've had. My boyfriend leaves for college at the end of August--summer's bittersweet.

Campus Book Rentals

As July comes to a close, we're all thinking, "where did summer go???". And that's even more true if you're going to college. Although I still have one more year of high school left, lots of my friends are headed off to college come the middle and end of August. And if you fit in that category, I've got a service that could help you save and even make money!

Campus Book Rentals is a website from which you can (you guessed it!) rent textbooks!

How does it work?:

 Some perks include:
-40-90% off of bookstore prices
-FREE shipping both ways
-you can highlight in the books
-and the renting period is flexible!

Plus, it's for a good cause. With each rented textbook, Campus Book Rentals donates to Operation Smile, an international charity that is dedicated to healing children's smiles through cleft palate and cleft lip surgeries.

I know this post is a bit different than the usual. But I know when it comes to any kind of shopping--be it shoes, clothing, or my back-to-school books, I look to save money. and Campus Book Rentals does that while donating money to a great cause!

If you're in college--I highly recommend using Campus Book Rentals to get your books for the coming semester!

**PS...want to MAKE money too? Campus Book Rentals has a service, called RENT BACK, that can help you make money off of your textbooks! Click here to find out more**

I got featured this week by the awesome ALICE on her blog The Sea Rex. It was the nicest write-up I've ever received and so I'm not going to write about anything else in this post. So instead of reading what I have to say, please go read her post about my blog HERE
Thank you Alice, for your kind words! :)

Crochet It

This heat has been absolutely unbearable here in the NYC area. Last week, I was praying for sun when the skies opened up nearly every day and poured rain. This week, I think a little rain would be nice to cool down the 100 degree temperatures we're getting.

The only good thing about the heat and the brutal sun is that I've been able to lay out by the pool and get a little tan :) This year for the first time ever my fair skinned, blonde-haired brother is tanner than I am. So far. I will not let him get to the end of the summer being tanner than I am!

Hope you're all staying cool and doing anything to beat this heat!

Summer Blackout

Dress- Marshall's | Shoes- Blowfish | Necklace- gifted Macy's | Bracelet- Attachments LLC

Still on that dress run...and again, I couldn't help myself. I have at least 5 little black dresses and always find new ones that I love. It's crazy when you think about it how dresses that are all the same color can be so different! This is a new favorite and in a light material that's perfect for summer. Plus it was 17 dollars at Marshall's....I live to get good deals at that place. This summer I'm there at least once a week! Driving is such a luxury .... :)

The Blues

Dress- Target | Flip Flops- Roxy via Marshall's | Hat- NYC street vendor | Sunglasses- c/o Giant Vintage | Bag- Anthropologie | Bracelet- Attachments LLC | Necklace- c/o ONecklace

Another great dress find at an unexpected place--Target!
I have been loving all of the dresses I've been finding for such cheap prices lately. I'm all about sales and that's why I love to peruse sale sections both in store and on my favorite online websites (Free People, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, etc).
For you plus size folks, I came across Roamans.com the other day and they have great stuff as well! I literally want to shop my favorite stores everyday just in case I've missed something. I'm addicted to sales!
It's hard to believe it but summer is really halfway over. I got my schedule for my senior year yesterday! I have most of the classes I wanted, so I'm pretty happy about that. Plus I'll have some of my favorite teachers for the second year in a row which is very lucky. I am actually kind of excited for school to start...
