Happy 4th of August! Found myself in a patriotic spirit (only a month late) so I broke out my favorite bustier and posed in front of a red barn! Y'all know I love vests--I wear a blue jean one or my J. Crew green utility one literally every other day--so this was a happy surprise from Silver Jeans Co! So far, I'm lovin' it, and can't wait to style it all the rest of Summer and into Fall :)

For the first month of summer I showed you how awesome statement jewelry was. And now I'm ready to show you that delicate can be just as awesome.

Introducing By Boe... do you like what I've styled so far? These earrings are my favorite. I just got a second hole piercing in my ear (WOOHOO) and I am SO stoked to put these earrings in my second hole and wear with some hoops or something once my 6 weeks are up (don't wanna risk infection, y'all).

Also, pardon my childish looking nails. I tend to get TOO festive on holidays (is too festive even a thing though, really??) and I went all out for the 4th this year. I am shameless and so expect to see these nails on me for a few more weeks. Also expect to see lots more By Boe goodies....HURRAY!

These days I seem to be all about accessories! From statement earrings to statement necklaces to everything in between. I decided to break from what's becoming my normal routine--statement necklaces--and wear this delicate one from Kendra Scott instead. The color and the length are perfect, and added just the right pop of color to my look!

And I can't help but point out the coloring of these earrings...or did you already notice? Orange and blue?! :) Yes please! Accessory Mercado has me ALLL set for UVa, yessir.

My other newest purchase isn't actually seen here. But you all know I love this army vest from J. Crew, just based on how often I wear it, right? Well, I got the jacket version of it from J. Crew the other day on SUPER sale. Gotta love good sales. Perhaps when it's a bit cooler I'll show that off to you as well!

Firefly Day 1 Outfit

Here's what I wore on Day 1 of the three days I spent at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware. My friend Katie and I (both rising First-Year Jeff Scholars at UVa) camped out and and enjoyed free drinks and extra perks because we had Press Passes. I also had a new experience...and that would be PUMPING MY OWN GAS! As a Jersey girl, I've never pumped gas before...so losing my gas-pumping virginity was a big big deal! Had to take a picture, obviously.

Wearing a short dress could be considered risky at a concert...especially because I was jumping up and down to the beat, sitting in the grass, and more. My secret? I ALWAYS wear spandex, a.k.a. athletic compression sports, underneath my dresses and skirts! It eliminates all my worry and let's me go about the day without having to check to make sure my butt isn't showing. Came in handy at Firefly, for sure!

Probably my favorite part of my outfit is the sunglasses. I've been wearing exclusively Giant Vintage sunglasses for about two years now, and just a day before Firefly got in a whole new shipment! This pair was my favorite--and they were glued to my face all weekend long! They are just SO festival-perfect. I love the flirty look of heart-shaped sunglasses and will definitely be breaking these out again this summer. Can't wait to show you the other pairs they sent me! HURRAY FOR GIANT VINTAGE!
