Fake Christmas

Top- Forever 21 | Skirt- Urban Outfitters | Jacket- c/o Free People | Scarf- Hollister | Hat- American Eagle gifted | Watch- c/o Daniel Wellington | Boots- Lucky Brand @ Macy's

I have a black leather jacket but it honestly doesn't get much use, partially because I feel too goth when I wear it since I wear so much other black. But then, this jacket came in. It's from Free People and it's one of their best selling jackets (of which they have many), and it's much easier to style if you ask me--because I can wear black with it! I did decide to stick with lighter colors though.

Today was FAKE CHRISTMAS at my house--meaning we woke up and opened all our presents and pretended today was Christmas! Why? Because on REAL Christmas we're going to be away (you'll hear more about that later...). I got everything I wanted--a curling iron, puffer vests, the hat I'm wearing here, and the cutest pair of boots! I'm so happy with everything I've got, I really am so lucky :)

Next time you see me I'll be TAN YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. (Being pale is seriously a struggle).

Snow White

I took the SATs for the second time this morning. I hope I did as well as I want so that I can be done with this business!! Standardized tests are literally the worst. In other news, I've taken full advantage of my shiny new license and have just returned from a nice trip to the mall ALL BY MAHSELF! It was awesome. I got all my christmas shopping done without having to sneak stuff into the car with my parents :)
And I did it in style too...in my very own JETTA! Yep, I got a car. It rocks.

Finally Fall

Top- H&M | Jeans- H&M | Studded flatsc/o My Hot Shoes | Hat- gifted (Thanks Mrs. Lanigan!) | Scarf- Hollister | Bracelets- House of Kami, c/o Starry Groove, c/o Lobby, c/o Vanity Gal

All of the leaves have fallen at my house. The yellows, browns, oranges, reds---they go so well with even the simplest of color schemes. What do you think of this outfit?

I've got a 3-day week this coming week. One test on Tuesday and then I'm free of tests!! I plan to blog all four days of my weekend, so stay tuned for that. :) Also, does anyone still trick-or-treat? I know that' s next week, but I'm already thinking about it. I'm 17...and I still trick-or-treat. Candy is all ages, if ya ask me.

I've noticed my style evolving this fall. Last year, I felt like I was always trying to be outlandish and I really only wore skirts and dresses. This year, I've toned it down a bit, and I wear jeans and pants occasionally. It helps, of course, that I've finally found some pants that are long enough and that fit me right. Tall people like me--I recommend H&M for colored jeans/pants, and American Eagle for your regular old denim. I've also been pairing flats and Converse with just about everything. I have a new appreciation for the leopard loafers I got for Christmas last year--they're stylish and comfy, and I've worn them much more this year already! But don't worry--just today, I stocked up on black tights. That means skirts and dresses are on their way :)

Also--I'm on the lookout for a pair of brown leather (or faux leather) ankle/midcalf boots. If any of you have suggestions/recommendations/etc, please let me know!

Finally--COSTUME IDEAS! I still need one for a costume party I'm going to next weekend! Does anyone have any cute/easy ideas?

Say hello to my brand new skirt from Sheinside! What do you guys think?

I really like the concept and the look of it, but to be honest I'm not quite sure how else to style it. Plus, it's a bit mature for my style: I even had a tough time finding an outfit for it! This look seems a bit too"grown-up" to me. Despite all of these cons, I'm still glad I selected this skirt. A little style challenge is good to further develop my style! I also found a way to add some fun in with a pop of Bubblicious pink. You may notice I don't wear bright colors enough. Or even colors in general! And it's true--I have a lot of black, brown, and neutral tones in my wardrobe that just go together so well!

I want that to change this Spring and Summer. I'm going to try orienting a bit more color into every outfit! That should be easy with the bracelet on it's way to me from Rocks Paper Metal...talk about neon! Can't wait to get my hands on this sweet accessory!

Also, if you like this skirt your in LUCK. Get 20% off your order at Sheinside with code RORY20 until the end of may! They've got plenty of young, fun, (and yes, colorful) clothing to get you through the season! I'm sure with some effort I'll find more fun ways to style this skirt
