And summer has finally broke here in the Northeast...yesterday was SO humid my hair was going crazy! The annoying thing about my hair is that the bottom is totally straight...but the top, around my face, gets all frizzy and curly whenever there's any humidity at all. It's not a good look, let me tell you!

Anyways, what do you think about my first styling of A'Muse Me Boutique's statement necklace? I'm loving the colors of this one, but since it does have quite a bit of color going on I decided to tone it down with a vintage-y green vest and a white dress. Of course I couldn't tone it down TOO much...and chose a dress with an intricate top design and a bralette to match my necklace and shoes!

I love how statement necklaces transform an otherwise pretty basic outfit. Stay tuned for How to Wear Statement Necklaces, Parts 2 and 3 coming later this week!

Sixty Seven

Dress- Wetseal | Jacket- thrifted Gap | Boots- c/o Sixty Seven | Necklace & Earrings- Forever 21 | Watch- c/o Daniel Wellington

And just when I thought I couldn't possibly need another pair of boots, the Blake boot from Sixty Seven came into my life. Usually, to be honest, I don't opt for boots that make me taller as I'm already about 5'9" (and who knows if I'm still growing). But these are different. They are the perfect ankle boot for Spring, and that's actually why I picked them out--all of the boots I have are meant to be worn with tights, or with jeans, or with something cold-weather related. These booties are perfectly versatile (proof--I'm wearing them in 10 degree weather in the snow). And already, I'm envisioning them with spring dresses and skirts.

This Spring is going to be one of the best ones yet. Already, despite the fact that it's still freezing outside and that the polar vortex is continuing into March, I've had the best couple of weeks. I'm happier then I've ever been before and also starting to feel sentimental--in merely a month, I'll put away my books and be done with high school studying forever.

How am I going to be done in APRIL you ask? At my high school, senior's do a 5-week-long "senior project" at the end of the year--we take no classes, and have no homework. Instead we design our own 5 week schedule around WHATEVER we want to do. I absolutely can't wait.

What is my project, exactly? Along with two of my best friends, I will be pursuing happiness. What does this mean? I'm not quite sure yet. All I know right now is I'll be writing lots of poetry, taking lots of pictures, and hanging out with my friends. In the end, we hope to have interviewed other friends as well as people off of the street about what makes them happy, and turning it into a documentary (starring the three of us of course). I can't wait to pursue happiness and to tell you all of my adventures!

Here's to the best Spring ever!

Summer Scarf

Dress- Wet Seal | Scarf- c/o Snoozer Loser | Shoes- giveaway Marco Santi at Sole Society | Belt- Old Navy | Bracelet- c/o Starry Groove

Scarves in the summer seem kind of excessive, especially when it's 90 degrees (like it was today).
Snoozer Loser makes some awesome scarves perfect for spring/summer (and fall and winter too actually) so you might just want to check em out. Also, stay tuned for a giveaway coming later this week! If you can guess what item from the shop they'll be giving away in the comments below, you get 5 extra entries!!! Leave comments with what you think Snoozer Loser will be giving away on Wear Abouts this week.

On another note....this girl is way ahead in the college application process! I've got my essay for the common application, as well as the common app itself, pretty much completed. On top of that I've filled out some supplemental essays for my top schools, so I am feeling good! Applying to college is nerve-wracking yet so exciting!!!!

I'm probably crazy but I just want the whole process to kickoff right now so I can actually send in applications! :)

Sunburst Spokes

Dress- Wet Seal | Shoes- Target | Belt- Target | Necklace- my grandma's | Sunburst Spoke Earrings- c/o OASAP

And I'm done with school! God does it feel good. Graduation was yesterday and it was bittersweet for me since a lot of my friends and my boyfriend graduated. I still have a whole nother year! It's just awesome to think that in a year, a mere 365 days (less even!) I'll know where I'm going to college. Crazy.

Hope you all are well, and soaking in the first rays of summer!!
