Here's what I wore on Day 1 of the three days I spent at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware. My friend Katie and I (both rising First-Year Jeff Scholars at UVa) camped out and and enjoyed free drinks and extra perks because we had Press Passes. I also had a new experience...and that would be PUMPING MY OWN GAS! As a Jersey girl, I've never pumped gas before...so losing my gas-pumping virginity was a big big deal! Had to take a picture, obviously.

Wearing a short dress could be considered risky at a concert...especially because I was jumping up and down to the beat, sitting in the grass, and more. My secret? I ALWAYS wear spandex, a.k.a. athletic compression sports, underneath my dresses and skirts! It eliminates all my worry and let's me go about the day without having to check to make sure my butt isn't showing. Came in handy at Firefly, for sure!

Probably my favorite part of my outfit is the sunglasses. I've been wearing exclusively Giant Vintage sunglasses for about two years now, and just a day before Firefly got in a whole new shipment! This pair was my favorite--and they were glued to my face all weekend long! They are just SO festival-perfect. I love the flirty look of heart-shaped sunglasses and will definitely be breaking these out again this summer. Can't wait to show you the other pairs they sent me! HURRAY FOR GIANT VINTAGE

Biker's Bridge

Top- c/o The Trend Boutique | Shorts- Macy's | Shoes- Converse | Bag- Vera Bradley | Watch- c/o Flex | Necklace- c/o Anjolee | Earrings- Forever 21 | Sunglasses- c/o Giant Vintage

I had a photo shoot with one of my friends this week and we found this bikers bridge running over a highway. It happened to match the cage details on my top and the colors of my outfit quite well! The photo shoot went well too--I love when I get some good quality fine art photographs :)

My friend did a good job taking these pictures too, right?

Speaking of taking pictures, I'm looking to buy a new camera, preferably a Nikon. Any suggestions would be AWESOME!

Happy Monday!

Plow Marks

Top- J. Crew | Vest- Land's End | Leggings- H&M | Flats- c/o The People's Movement | Necklace- gifted Etsy | Watch- c/o Daniel Wellington

My mom gave me this necklace back in December, but I think this is the first time I've worn it on my blog despite it being a favorite of mine these past two months!

It's a scrabble piece with a camera charm on the front--I see it as the perfect symbol of who I am, because it combines words (the scrabble piece) with photography (the camera charm) and fashion (it is something I can wear!)--my greatest passions. I love that it combines all three of my favorite things.

Embroider's Blue

Dress- c/o YA Los Angeles | Shoes- TJMaxx | Necklace- Nasty Gal | Bracelets- gifted, Ann Taylor

A throwback to summer...I miss wearing dresses with no tights and no sweaters! As the snow falls down outside my window right now I'm wanting to be wearing this more than anything.

Fake Christmas

Top- Forever 21 | Skirt- Urban Outfitters | Jacket- c/o Free People | Scarf- Hollister | Hat- American Eagle gifted | Watch- c/o Daniel Wellington | Boots- Lucky Brand @ Macy's

I have a black leather jacket but it honestly doesn't get much use, partially because I feel too goth when I wear it since I wear so much other black. But then, this jacket came in. It's from Free People and it's one of their best selling jackets (of which they have many), and it's much easier to style if you ask me--because I can wear black with it! I did decide to stick with lighter colors though.

Today was FAKE CHRISTMAS at my house--meaning we woke up and opened all our presents and pretended today was Christmas! Why? Because on REAL Christmas we're going to be away (you'll hear more about that later...). I got everything I wanted--a curling iron, puffer vests, the hat I'm wearing here, and the cutest pair of boots! I'm so happy with everything I've got, I really am so lucky :)

Next time you see me I'll be TAN YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. (Being pale is seriously a struggle).

Birthmarks and Stabbings

Sweater- American Eagle | Dress- Free People via Lord and Taylor | Shoes- My Hot Shoes | Necklace- c/o O'Necklace | Earrings- Anthropologie, gifted | Watch- c/o Daniel Wellington

A throwback to early this Fall in one of my favorite dresses. I love this dress and it's black twin that I wear just as often! Which color do you like better? See the black version here

Also--take a look at the first picture, and look at my eye. Notice anything weird about it?

You may see a brownish red blob mark thing. In some lights it's brown, in others it looks like a blood red. What is it? It's just a birth mark. I've had it forever and when I meet new people I always get a question about it. Some people ask me right away, others wait til I've known them for weeks.

"You have something in your eye." or "What do you have in your eye?"are the most common. I've gotten the question so many times that I'm tempted to answer with "I got stabbed--you should see the other guy" or something scary/clever like that. The mark has never been something I wish I didn't have. It's really only obvious when I look sideways or up. But I've never found it ugly--it's just a birthmark like anyone else has! I think it's pretty cool actually, because how often do you meet someone who has a red/brown mark in their eye that makes it look like they've been stabbed? NOT OFTEN! I must be special ;)

Now that is some good college essay material. Ha. Good thing I'm done all my essays (FINALLY).

Happy almost Christmas!!!!
