Last week I was in Charlottesville for orientation at UVa and BOY was it HOT! I felt like I was melting and my hair was frizzing off my head... not a good look, let me tell you.

So this week I've come up with some back to school outfit ideas to keep cool--cause in late August in Virginia, it's gonna be HOT. This top from Lulu*s is perfect because of the open sides and lacy trim. Of course, accessories are SUPER important for once I'm at school, so I'm starting to narrow down what I can bring to fit in my teeny tiny dorm...

These chained beauties from Marrin Costello definitely make the cut. Chain is so in and gold is always classic...I think that this necklace is going to be my alternative to "pearls"! At UVa, pearls are huge among the girls in sororities and for football games. I'm definitely planning on being both a sorority girl and a football fan, but I think I'm gonna put my own twist on classy with gold chain instead of the stereotypical pearls!

Can't believe I'm off in just a month. UVa I'm comin' for ya! :)

It's Flown

I have 9 days until my preseason starts :( That means, essentially, 9 days of summer left. Once preseason starts, I'm back to waking up at 6:30 every morning and driving to my school. At least I will have the afternoons and nights, though. Officially, I have 23 days of summer left. Just a little of 3 weeks! I can't believe how fast it's flown. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm ready for school. Ready for chillier temps and fall layering. Of course, two days in and I'll be wishing it's summer again. Homework does that to ya. Oh yeah, speaking of which, I have yet to do my summer work. 3 books to read, one essay to prepare for, and half of a biology book to study. Ugh.

Lots of new goodies in this outfit! You've already seen an outfit with something from Kharisma Boutique. Remember the Aztec skirt I wore here? I originally got these two pieces to wear together in an awesome mash of print-clashing awesomeness. But the colors aren't quite the same and something was just...off. So, I found ways to wear them by themselves! :)

Then there's this reconstructed denim vest from Luckiest Clothing. It's good for summer because I can wear it over dresses, or like I did here to make the black seem more summery. White is the ultimate summer color.

I'd finally like to highlight this handpainted leather cuff from Cosmorones. I've got quite the collection of leather cuffs, and this one is TRULY unique because it's colorful! I love the chevron pattern.

And of course, the two necklaces...one old, one new. I've worn this Adriana Soto necklace a plethora of times and it still hasn't gotten old. It goes with everything!!! OASAP has sent me a number of good things over time, too.

Surely you've noticed my recent posts have involved quite a bit of TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I can't help it--every time I walk into that store, I find so many shoes tops skirts dresses scarves hats blazers. With SUCH good prices, it's amazing I'm not there all the time! Remember THIS post? Well, my room is actually getting painted this week. Yeah, a bit of a late start. I've been keeping my entire wardrobe downstairs, so getting dressed isn't as fun anymore. But I know once I have my own ginorrrmmous closet, it is going to be SO FUN. The reason I'm talking about my closet room is that, much like my clothing selections, I bought most of my decorations and furniture for my room from Home Goods, which is a sister company of TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

So basically the point of this post is that I love TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Homegoods. They have anything and everything.
